Arooda, Inc. ("Arooda," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our WhatsApp-based astrology service. By using Arooda, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Identification Information:

  • Phone Number (WhatsApp ID)
  • Email Address

1.2 Sensitive Personal Data (Philosophical Beliefs):

To provide astrological services, we require your Birth Date, Birth Time, and Birth Location. Under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CPRA), this data allows us to derive your precise geolocation and may be considered data revealing religious or philosophical beliefs.

1.3 Usage Data:

We collect transcripts of your chats with the AI, logs of commands used (e.g., #STOP), and interaction metadata.

2. Explicit Consent for Sensitive Data

By signing up for Arooda and providing your birth details, you explicitly consent to the processing of your birth data for the sole purpose of calculating your natal chart and generating astrological insights. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Service Delivery: To calculate planetary positions and generate personalized responses sent to you via WhatsApp.
  • Communication: To send you daily horoscopes, billing notifications, and service updates via WhatsApp, email and/or SMS.
  • Model Improvement: We may use anonymized and aggregated conversation data to refine our astrological algorithms. We do not use your personally identifiable birth data or raw chat logs to train our general-purpose AI models without your separate, explicit consent.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

4.1 WhatsApp (Meta): Our service operates on the WhatsApp Business API. By using the service, you acknowledge that your messages pass through Meta's infrastructure. Meta processes this data according to its own privacy policy and security standards, including encryption in transit.

4.2 Service Providers: We may share data with trusted vendors for:

  • Payment processing (e.g., Stripe).
  • Hosting and cloud infrastructure.

4.3 No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

5.1 Retention Period: We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active.

5.2 Right to Erasure ("Click-to-Cancel"): You can request the immediate deletion of your data by sending the command #STOP in the WhatsApp chat. Upon receipt of this command:

  • Your subscription will be canceled. Arooda will stop sending you any more messages via WhatsApp.
  • Your birth details and chat history will be permanently purged from our active databases within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations (e.g., tax records).
  • You will not be able to recover any of your past correspondences with Arooda.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location (including Massachusetts, California, and the EU), you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectify: Correct inaccurate birth details.
  • Delete: Request total erasure of your data.
  • Opt-Out: Limit the use of your sensitive personal information.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard encryption to protect your data at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You acknowledge that you use the Service at your own risk.

8. Children's Privacy

Arooda is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 in violation of COPPA, or under 18 in violation of our policy, we will delete the account immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via a WhatsApp message or email. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
